Day 28: Covid Business Boost

DAY 28: Urban Farm Fermentory May 12th

Remember, back in the day when going down Anderson St in Portland felt like a sketchy isolated area?
Sometimes, it takes just one unique and tenacious business to put the wheels of change in motion.
My boost for today is the Urban Farm Fermentory!
I remember the 1st time I went & it was shortly after they opened. It was a quiet Sunday morning, felt like no mans' land & I walked in.

The Urban Farm was literally that an urban farm
Out back tilapia growing in barrels, a cool room with rows of mushrooms, locally harvested honey, local hard cider & of course their world class kombucha all in an old industrial building.
They have created a really vibrant, fun, welcoming and safe place for all.
Whether it's corn-hole down the hall, swing dancing to live music on a Saturday or hosting events to bring awareness to issues, they are all about committing to community.
And, in my humble opinion, they literally make the best kombucha. I love their seasonal varieties & it's hard to say what my favorite is.
