Day 57: Covid Business Boost: Akakpo Jewelry: Designing for Clean Water

DAY 57: Akakpo Jewelry June 10th
Every day, we have the luxury of clean drinking water, turn the faucet & voila.
We take for granted that clean drinking water is a human right, unless you live in Flint or a 3rd world country.
My boost today is for a jewelry designer who is being the change.
Ebenezer Akakpo, moved here from Ghana and after earning degrees is industrial design & jewelry making set up a studio in Westbrook.
Akakpo Jewelry uses traditional Ghanaian designs and in his Emekor line, 70% of proceeds go directly to a water filtration system he designed.
The Better Water Maker Project

The link below is for the Emekor line, $10 earrings and of that $7 goes towards the Better Water Maker Project.
Tap on the blue highlighted Adinkra to learn more about the symbolism of his jewelry.
