Day 83: Covid Business Boost The Democratic Cup: Conversation and Change

Day 83: The Democratic Cup: July 6th
Art & conversation.
And the art of conversation.
Both can be illuminating, uplifting, maddening and sometimes just straight up provocative.
Years ago, I heard a spoken word performer saying that he was tired of calling people out.
As it rarely resulted in people feeling heard, respected or in any change in opinion.
He started calling people up & calling them in.

The power of conversation over a cup of tea or coffee.
My boost for today is for a Maine based potter, Ayumi Horie & her collaboration with other artists to create
The Democratic Cup

"The Democratic Cup is a slow activism project that uses handmade cups to encourage people to become active and engaged citizens in our democracy.
We encourage person-to-person civil conversations about social and political issues. As a country, we need conversations and connections to reinforce the dignity and inclusivity of all Americans..."
50% of all proceeds go towards social justice organizations.
