Day 90: Covid Business Boost: Allysun West: Fiber Artist/Clothing Designer

Day 90: Allysun West: July 13th
A few months, before the world changed, we took a trip to Peru. On the journey towards Machu Picchu; we stopped off at an indigenous women's artisan center.
The wool was dyed by hand using local plants, the colors were vibrant & alive.
The purples were made from lupines & in Peru, the lupines grow over 5' feet tall!!!

My boost for today is for a Portland based fiber artists who uses traditional methods of making plant based dyes.
Allysun West creates her own clothing using natural dyes.

She also offers up workshops on dyeing with medicinal herbs & plants, knitting, sewing and even making vegan leather.
You can find her in a few shops in Greater Portland, on Etsy and if 1st Friday ever comes back, look for her there.
